When Sharon Cordes and I met we were both teaching art at a private school.

One day my car broke down and Sharon gave me a lift home.  I made her a lunch and we talked.

We both needed money.  Sharon was desperate.  I hatched a plan to create a fictitious person and sign my paintings with her name. 

 Women painters are more popular than men.  They are more politically correct and imminently more exhibitable.  Over cake and coffee I asked Sharon if she would play the role of the artist.

"It's a little immoral, isn't it?  You should just  be yourself."

I imagined the scandal, snickering.

The plan wasn't a money making scheme, it was a punk art stink bomb intended to self destruct.

I had to eventually admit that she is right.

Still, it could be fun...
